"Hastert is already feeling the pressure because of Boeing...."
This port deal had bad timing, whether you are for it, or against it. The repubs are against because of midterms elections, and the possibility of dems taking control. Thus slanted iraqi war hearings/impeachment proceedings. Have the deal come after the elections, look it over closely, get everyone's questions answered, make sure no former federal official is making big bucks, and then see where everything falls out.

Try spreading the word that you won't do business with him any more because he's not trustworthy and see what happens: you'll lose the friend AND the business. And probably other business also.
To: Jmouse007
True "friends" stick with/by you whether they get what they want or not. That may be true of "friends", but there is a huge difference between a "friendship" and an "alliance".

We can alway count on the Brigade of the Clueless to join the Party of Treason's attacks on the President and the War.

It amazes me that people honestly believe that the UAE has America's best interests at heart. They are fair-weather friends at best, not to be trusted.
If the UAE cannot understand that for right now we just think it is better if we somehow control and manage our own ports, then screw them. A good friend would understand that concept.
Are we going to let them blackmail us everytime they don't get exactly what they want? Blackmail that has to do with life and death, freedom and tyranny?

The other FReeper was mistaken.
We should never give into anyone's threats.
that isn't the point.
It should have never gotten to this point.

Insane undermining of our military by DemocRATS is disturbing, but expected. That some Republicans are joining the likes of Durbin, Schumer, Clinton in making the lives of U.S. Sailors more difficult is beyond disturbing. It is an outrage.

These are the subjects that work to unravel the Reagan era coalition of hard core business/intellectuals and the beer and bread Lee Greenwood/Ross Perot bunch. We love you guys but you need to take a deep breath and realize we can't go it alone.

I'm not for discouraging foreign investment in America - just Arab investment. Shortsighted and stupid.

Perhaps you should READ this article before making stupid comments direct from DU's talking points.
