Riley is a high tax, big government Republican.....actually his first priority is apparently power. He lied when he ran in 2002 as anti-tax conservative and then immediately proposed the biggest tax increase in the state's history. He tried to turn the state's colleges into a political machine to sell it. Fortunately, the voters rejected this at the polls.

Was this Riley always a Republican or is he a Democrat in sheep clothing. Basically is he a Democrat that couldn't get into power through the Democrats so he became a Republican to wiggle into power.
