That's gotta be the biggest upset in Oscar history, bigger than "Shakespeare In Love" beating "Private Ryan". I mean, not one person in ten could tell you what the hell "Crash" even is or what it's about.

I think Hollywood figured out if they gave "Broken-back" the best picture award then another 50 million people would stop going to the movies.

One of the biggest upsets in Oscars history had to be in 1982 when "Chariots of Fire" won over "Reds" and "Raiders of the Lost Ark." "Raiders" is still a classic to this day, while "Reds" is a forgotten Warren Beatty movie. Some will say "Chariots of Fire" is boring even though it's a great movie, but who can ever forget the musical score to "Chariots of Fire?" That score is still a classic to this day.
