Not around Austin. They've been ahead of that curve by about 25 years. They even make up beetles just to try to get areas off-limits to developers. My apartment manager just moved here from Orange County. Loves it. My ex-gf just moved back from Hermosa Beach. She hated the cost of living but loved everything else. But if you are looking for ex-Californians, you need to go to Nevada, Arizona and Colorado. They are getting overrun in those states.
