Everything is subjective, but my very favorite pieces that I find truly inspired, and inspiring, include the following:

Rachmaninov Second Symphony
Bach Sonatas and Partitas for Unaccompanied Violin
Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto
Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto
Mozart Requiem
Mozart "Linz" Symphony
Beethoven "Eroica" Symphony
Beethoven Seventh Symphony
Beethoven "Emperor" Concerto
Brahms "German" Requiem
Mahler Second Symphony
Copland Appalachian Spring
Mendelssohn String Octet
Dvorak "American" String Quartet
Handel "Messiah"

I am leaving out a lot and I am sure many can argue that a few on my list might pale in comparison to other works, but as I mentioned before, the question is subjective.

Dude, like, all those guys are, like, dead.

Do you have any favorites that were, like, written after 1944?
