Lott: this was instituted as a temporary measure TEN YEARS AGO. Now it's a heating and airconditioning program. Where does it end?

Olympia, baby, this was supposed to be a temporary program (they all know none of them are, but they lie to us and we fall for it over and over).

I DARE any freepers or anyone else to BITCH about Bush's "spending" after listening to the Senate..
and also, looking at the Fox poll results that show that the ONLY program that REPUBLICANS would want funding cut for is Iraq reconstruction...every single other program mentioned had Republicans answering in favor of HIGHER TAXES to pay for them...
Therefore, Bush IS playing to his base, IMHO>

Since Coleman appears to be ready to vote yes, we need at least 6 dems.

Oh, wait, that was silly. Collins and Snowe will vote aye so we'll need at least 8 dems.

I thought they were all about cutting the deficit...especially the demsLOL. That WAS good for a laugh. This is an odd vote...Dole/aye...Feinstein/no...Warner/aye...Specter/aye. We are going to lose this one, I think. Then do they have to vote on the actual proposal?

Yes....but, you have to figure it will pass, big time.
And you are correct, the votes don't make much sense.
Except maybe geographically...nope Domenici voted AYE!!!
