No War In the Streets
New York Post ^ | March 1, 2006 | Ralph Peters

Posted on 03/01/2006 5:06:53 AM PST by kabar

March 1, 2006 -- THE reporting out of Baghdad continues to be hysterical and dishonest. There is no civil war in the streets. None. Period.

Terrorism, yes. Civil war, no. Clear enough?

Yesterday, I crisscrossed Baghdad, visiting communities on both banks of the Tigris and logging at least 25 miles on the streets. With the weekend curfew lifted, I saw traffic jams, booming business — and everyday life in abundance.

Yes, there were bombings yesterday. The terrorists won't give up on their dream of sectional strife, and know they can count on allies in the media as long as they keep the images of carnage coming. They'll keep on bombing. But Baghdad isn't London during the Blitz, and certainly not New York on 9/11.

He's got more guts than I do. I live right along the banks of the Tigris. Wonder why he didn't stop by?

He's right, though. There's terrorism going on as has been. But there's really been no sign of a civil war that I can see.

The media wants one so bad that they're trying to fabricate one, as usual.

Hi. I'm glad you are safe. And I'm shocked that Peter's would not have stopped by and bought you a beer. BTW, I think he wears a bad toupee. ;o)

Democrats--including their spokespersons in the "Mainstream Newsmedia" (a.k.a. The Democrat Propaganda Machine) and their henchpersons in Hollywood and academia--will stop at nothing to discredit President Bush and to seize political power! Nothing!

They have tried unceasingly to do this since the 2000 Presidential Election.

Much of their fury and determination stems from this Election and the false charge that President Bush "stole" the election--or, if he didn't, succeeded somehow unfairly--or, even if he didn't, he shouldn't have been elected anyway--or, even if he was, they don't like it.

In other words--the Democrats came to believe (some faster than others) their own propaganda. To them, they might as well, since truth exists only in the minds of the observers (note groupthink and veiled reference to George Orwell); so, the ability to establish fiction as truth, is a clever means of achieving one's objectives (note similarity to the mental processes of the pathological liar, with inferences to certain Democrat politicians).

Something else that fuels the Democrats' fury is the reaction to the endless scandals of the Clinton Administration--scandals that the Democrats consider to be inventions--or at least exaggerations--trumped up by Republicans for propaganda purposes. (Note once again that the Democrats believe their own propaganda and distinguish truth from fiction only in that whatever can be believed--or can be made to be believed--constitutes truth.)

However, note tagline.

No doubt...from the closing:

******************************

The bombing made headlines (and a news photographer just happened to be on the scene). Here in Baghdad, it just made the average Iraqis hate the terrorists even more.

You are being lied to. By elements in the media determined that Iraq must fail. Just give 'em the Bronx cheer.

Yes. I read ITM last night. Really a fine looking young man, full of deep love for a black rock, so humble in nature. Cannot figure out why the Iraqi ayatollah's of Najaf have not had this goon rubbed out last year.

None of us feel safe when we see that thing.

Muqtada al-Sadr is a big problem who needs to be dealt with swiftly and efficiently.

And I'm afraid Jaafari's not the one to do it.

Baghdad is locked down again today.

Still no civil war, though. Sorry, MSM.
