The BIG [Boycott Israeli Goods] Campaign was launched in the House of Commons on the 4th July 2001.

European Boycott Israeli Goods Campaign

After a successful meeting at the European Social Forum, where a large number of people from other European Countries attended and a useful discussion was held, the BIG Campaign is going European.

Details of other campaigns will be listed here, as and when we get details. If you belong to a boycott campaign or Palestinian Solidarity Group in any other European country please contact us with your details.

Until the Port Deal Hysterics put some credibility, verifiable sources up, that are NOT Politicians sucking on the Long Shoreman's Unions "Contribution" list

Unions sure have clout.

Britain's largest trade union, Unison, is actively joined in with others calling for a boycott of all Israeli goods.

Last month, the General Synod of the Church of England announced that it would back a campaign urging disinvestment in companies "profiting" from Israel's occupation of the West Bank

The number of folks boycotting Israel, even within the US, boggles the mind, doesn't it?

The UN has been generally nasty towards Israel

Why was the Durban UN World Conference Against Racism in 2001 anti-Israel?

An alien observing the United Nations' debates, reading its resolutions, and walking its halls could well conclude that a principal purpose of the world body is to censure a tiny country called Israel."

It does, the old mainstream Protestant churches, lefty democrats, etc.etc.

But it's time to bash an ally of the US in the WOT, and all of that is forgotten.

It is illegal for us to do business with countries that boycott Israel.

I wonder if an exemption can be made for DPW. The Chinese government's shipping company, COSCO, got an exemption from a US law through the help of APCO

COSCO has been able to establish and maintain an open communication channel with the U.S. government and congressional members through the services of APCO. — Mr. Zhang Liyong, President, COSCO Americas, Inc.

"When is "W" going to show some cojones and toss these people in the clink for the duration just like Woodrow Wilson?"

When is "W" going to show some cojones and demand that the UAE officially recognize the current Afghan govt instead of the old Taliban one in exchange for doing business in the USA? As a "good" partner in the War on Terror would.

Good post.

It is pathetic how some have grasped at the race card to defend our Saudi-Prince-Kisser-in-Chief's dereliction on this issue.

Whoever you think the UAE government recognizes in Afghanistan, they provide our fleet which launches/launched planes against the Taliban with service without a question.

I think you'd better check stuff out a bit more, and also do a little research into what kind of "recognition" UAE extends to other states. Some countries "recognize" everybody, all comers welcome (a situation remarkably similar to that of the United States before Wilson took us into WWI). Others are a bit more restrictive, and then there are those who demand a treaty.

UAE is really not in a position to do much more than to pay lipservice to any restrictions or demands by anybody.

The UAE lets us use their facilities for our fleet because they know they could be the Islamofascists next lunch without our assistance. And YES they do still recognize the old Taliban govt. We should use our leverage to end it.
