I preferred it when the Olympic Games - both Winter and Summer - were held on the same year every four years. It was nice to have a ban on participation by pro athletes, too. The only pros were those fielded by communist countries, and defeating them was oh-so-sweet.

You are so right. They've gone downhill since "The Dream Team," haven't they?

The problem I have with the Olympics
1) is that it is no longer about competition, it's about winning.
Did you see where China is "breeding" winners for the 2008 games? They won an x-game event this year after convincing a gymnast to participate and hiring a Canadian coach.
2) All of these pros are able to play. Jim Thorpe should get his medals back!
3) Stupid X-games sports have been added to get an American audience.
