YIKES!
Night, mystery-ak!
Hate to jump in at the end of this but I scanned the posts and didn't see anything about it.
At the end of the broadcast, when NBC was doing the photo montage, they showed a skier who had fallen and a little girl that ran out onto the course to hug her...anyone know the story there? Pretty darn tearjerking...
Seems like just yesterday we had that photo made. And it was what? 40-50 years ago, lol?
Ahem, and their mamas should continue to produce offspring who later become Supreme Court Justices and Mayors in this wonderful country.
No, I didn't see "Dancing w/the Stars" tonight, but I did tape it (watched the entire Olympic show). So Jerry Rice came in second? (I don't mind knowing ahead of time who won)
Yup he came in second thanks only to his fans (who weren't really watching him bomb on the dance floor). Nice guy but a dancer he most certainly is NOT.
That was actually some skier who had won a medal and the kid was her daughter who came over and they hugged.
Oh. I figured someone had wiped out...must have been the "I can't believe I won" fall.
Cute cute stuff with the little girl.
Oh, I'll watch it, if it's on at the same time or same night. More CSI re-runs I can catch later.
I just like it. I never watched any other "reality"-type shows, except the first season of The Apprentice. After that one, I never watched it again. Bleecch.
I love this dancing one, though. It's such a field-leveler. And I like to watch people who are good at it, like the pro's. I don't like the manipulation of the long drawn-out dramatic ejection sequences, however - would prefer they shorten all that a bit.
Yeah, I admit it... we only saw about half of the shows, but we voted for Jerry Rice every time, whether he was the best or not. Jerry Rice is a big favorite in this household. My stepson is a big 49er's fan, and played wide receiver in high school and college... Rice is his idol. Jerry seems like a good guy, and was having a lot of fun on the show. He's a pretty good dancer, too! ;-)
Mom told me that Stacy is a wreslter. HUH? She does NOT look like a wrestler.
I realize he wasn't the best dancer, but - I admit it - zelig and I voted for him a few times, just because we like him (see my previous post). We only saw about half the shows, though, I doubt if our votes made much of a difference. ;-)
His footwork was MUCH improved this last Thursday. He won Len over within the next week, too. I think he had the least advantages and came the farthest. His lifts in the freesyle were very good--did you see him spin Anna around like she weighed nothing?
Believe me, he was just as shocked as everyone else. I saw him apologize to Stacy. He was dumbfounded.
I thought Fantasia did a decent job with the National Anthem at the NASCAR race today. She didn't screech and kept it within relatively normal bounds. She looks absolutely horrible, though.
Fantasia and Anthony Hamilton performing at the Clive Davis pre-Grammy party earlier this month. Believe it or not, even though she wore normal clothes at the NASCAR race, she looked worse than in these photos.
Fantasia arriving at the Davis party.
No, she doesn't. But she is or was. Another poster here knew more about her than I. I'd never heard of her before "Dancing." I liked her.
Well all and all, it was a very enjoyable olympics. Torino was a beautiful location for it and appears they did a great job with it all.
Kudos to the Italians.
I'm actually not looking very forward to the "China coming out party" in 2008. I heard the Chinese and Russians are teaming up with training with the primary goal of doing whatever necessary to take medals away from the US.
China has implemented something called "Project 119" which is to sink as much money as possible into the development and training for medals they might not be normally in competition for to try to guarantee they end up first in total medals. 119 representing the count of medals in the events they normally wouldn't put any effort into winning.
I hope the US is going to have a strong gymnastics team that can go for the gold because it would be a huge blow to the Chicoms to lose that one.
Oh, it was YOU TWO! LOL. I'm sure he thanks you!
