The data you cite contains obvious flaws:  


ANNUAL AMERICAN DEATHS CAUSED BY DRUGS

ALCOHOL ........................ 100,000

ALL LEGAL DRUGS ................ 20,000


 

"400,000 + 100,000 + 2,000 + 500 = 20,000"

 

Whether products of incompetence or fabrication, these numbers are as worthless as the government that produced them, and the lives of the addicts who kid themselves in their publication.

Of course they don't have data on driving under the influence of THC. Unfortunately, those accidents also kill other people. That would seem to be the biggest obstacle in my mind to legalization.
