Just for my information, were there any prominent republicans who spoke out with clarity on this issue and who did not just get swamped with the media hype? Why are we always behind the curve? Not that I know of, all of them knee jerkingly spoke and got their information from the MSM, instead of researching it themselves.

Senator John Warner was openly for it from the beginning and he lives in VA which has ports...not that I care for him very much otherwise, but he was good on this.
