Personally I think we'd be better off chipping away at Roe vs Wade for 3-5 more years and wait for one more conservative justice. The abortion problem won't be solved until people are no longer indoctrinated into believing that having the child would mean the end of their world so to speak. Which means, the governor should ban public education before abortion.

I assume that like all states SD already has a law against murder. Just apply it.

If it gets that far, I think the SCOTUS will disallow the SD law because of the lack of a rape/incest clause.

Well good news here from DrudgeReport tonight:
http://www.argusleader.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060224/NEWS/60224007/1001
PIERRE As the South Dakota House of Representatives gave final approval today to a bill aimed at banning most abortions and creating a U.S. Supreme Court challenge to the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, Gov. Mike Rounds said hes inclined to sign it.
The House gave final approval to the bill with a 50-18 vote Friday afternoon.
At a press conference Friday morning, Rounds said he will sign the bill if he determines that it can save lives.
Ive indicated Im pro-life and I do believe abortion is wrong, and that we should do everything we can to save lives, Rounds said. If this bill accomplishes that, then I am inclined to sign the bill into law.

It takes two to tango. Both parites need to be accountable for their actions. Ergo, in my opion, this issue is a non sequitar; and do not give a diddler's damn about abortion issues.

One thing I like about Dakotans is they absolutely don't give a rat's ass over what anybody else thinks.
