Tony Snow is back and better than ever! Tony's guests and topics on today's Tony Snow Show include:
More Information Needed
Many who object to the port deal are concerned that they were not in the decision-making loop. Should more people be included in decisions of this nature? Maryland Governor Bob Ehrlich (R) weighs in.
The Facts Win
After sifting through mountains of paper and doing acres of research, the port story doesn't seem like a big issue. But Tony will address any concerns.
The Zen of Bode
Why does Bode Miller insist he doesn't care about winning medals at the Olympics? What is he even doing at the Olympics? Fox News Contributor Tiki Barber thinks he knows the answer.

"Woof" is used in broadcasting to say "stop," "that's enough" or to mark a specific point in time
-- which is what is done in this case. "Tony's show starts in 3 minutes: WOOF!" Means in 3 minutes from-- NOW!
Exactly. Except, I will bet you that once this particular issue is resolved, the process issues will sort of die away. Normally, you don't WANT the President OR the Congress involved in approving every business transaction which occurs in the normal course of capitalism. You do want a mechanism to get it to the President if there's a national security problem. The issue is that someone at the sub-Cabinet should have alerted their boss that something hot was afoot so the appropriate Press and Public education could have been done.
Careful there Peach. If that ever happened I think most of us would fall over dead from shock. (*snicker!*)
Oh they know alright, they are just grandstanding because the public did not understand the deal and they are pandering to that ignorance. They take us for chumps.
"I am generous by nature. "F" was the grade that first came to mind but I didn't want to get it confused with the other connotations of that letter. "D" is associated with the Dems and for all their other failings, they do a good job of manipulating a compliant media. So by default, I settled on C-."
To me Congress does just enough to FAIL.
I agree with you that we need to do more. I don't know what the Coast Guard has asked for, but I do know that the President and Secretaries of Defense and Homeland Security have generally given all reasonable security requests priority. I AM concerned with cleaning up the bureaucracy of DHS. I see that as a real problem which will bite us if we don't fix it.
"Those people at Air Amerika pretty much just throw stuff against the wall to see if it sticks anyway."
Pretty much what the MSM and Dims always do - - dish some 'dirt' on the Prez or 1 of the members of the Admin or Pubbie politician and hope the American people will buy it - - - secretive, culture of corruption, Dims didn't get 1 dime from abramoff, troops have to buy their own body armor, Prez is listening in on Americans without a warrant, Prez shirked duty in NG and only got in because of his daddy's connections, Bush is stupid, blah, blah, blah
"The issue is that someone at the sub-Cabinet should have alerted their boss that something hot was afoot so the appropriate Press and Public education could have been done."
Bingo! I think you've just hit on the problem the administration has on this, and other, problems they've faced!!
Neil Bush...a name we don't hear very often. Sorta like Caroline Kennedy. Or her kids.
That is a symptom of our times. I am frequently forced to form an opinion based on the opinion of those I respect because the "facts" are not available. One of my hobbies is the option market. Options are derivatives. And that is what we are frequently compelled to do in politics. We determine an opinion from a derivative of the facts, i.e. a person closer to the facts than we are. This is a particular problem with this Administration that keeps so much info close to the vest. The Clinton approach was to either bury, obscure or classify everything so as to limit access.
I'm tired of that talking point as well!
"It was a real mess showing your real job should be in something other than journalism"...(frown)... LOL.-
DO those seminars have infomercials?
I agree. They think we are basically stupid. I believe it is more on the line of ill-informed. Some people (OK a lot) are intellectually lazy. They need to be spoon-fed information. Unfortunately, they are licking off the spoon of a bunch of opportunists and media elites.

Anyone who calls in and says they are a "Conservative" or "I voted for Bush" followed by a Butt Monkey is suspicious at best. If he teaches communications he doesn't need to qualify his statement.
Just as long as the silly hosers actually present some FACT, instead of the usual posing and preening for the camera and spouting the last talking point some staffer handed 'em on the way in the door.
Part of the reason I don't miss cable TV is that I don't even have to tune around CSPAN any more. Watch that DTCJ for more than a couple of minutes, and it screws up my disposition for the rest of the day.
Most of them do see it but won't admit it. People have pride and want to save face. Fine. But not now and not over this. This is too important to let pride stand in the way.
