Tony Snow is back and better than ever! Tony's guests and topics on today's Tony Snow Show include:
More Information Needed
Many who object to the port deal are concerned that they were not in the decision-making loop. Should more people be included in decisions of this nature? Maryland Governor Bob Ehrlich (R) weighs in.
The Facts Win
After sifting through mountains of paper and doing acres of research, the port story doesn't seem like a big issue. But Tony will address any concerns.
The Zen of Bode
Why does Bode Miller insist he doesn't care about winning medals at the Olympics? What is he even doing at the Olympics? Fox News Contributor Tiki Barber thinks he knows the answer.

You know we ask a lot from our Presidents. They all have to do a heck of lot more than walk and chew gum. We have a major problem in Iraq right now because of the Shi'ite mosque bombing. Fox News Radio on XM is reporting militia fighting in Baghdad and our own Gen. Cowan saying we've got a serious problem with a potential Sunni-Shia civil war. And he's got to deal with a lot of less than educated folks on issues that are supposed to be resolved at the sub-cabinet level.
I have a link for you. It will help explain that this goes beyond the "people" of the UAE. Hope you take the time to read it because it explains the mechanisms for their funding of Hamas. Here's an excerpt:
President George W. Bush justifies the sale of the private British company that manages six U.S. ports to the government owned Dubai Ports World, saying that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a close ally of the U.S. in the war on terror. Indeed, the Jebel Ali terminal in Dubai transports at least 40% of US supplies to the troops in Iraq. Having the deepest port in the Persian Gulf, Dubai is critical for U.S. naval operations in the region. The UAE also provides air bases to support U.S. warplanes and stores materiel for U.S. forces. Moreover, it is also a major market for U.S. arms.
Not surprisingly, the President threatens to veto any legislation to block the deal and challenges lawmakers to step up and explain why a Middle Eastern company is held to a different standard" than the British company that ran the ports before.
There are many important differences. To begin with, a private company based in the U.K. a Western democracy with troops fighting along with U.S. soldiers in Iraq, contrasts sharply with the UAE, which supported al-Qaeda, sent 9/11 terrorists and funding, and continues to support Palestinian suicide bombers and particularly HAMAS, which President Bush calls a terrorist organization.
On July 27, 2005, the Palestinian Information Center carried a public HAMAS statement thanking the UAE for its unstinting support. The statement said: We highly appreciate his highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Bin Sultan Al-Nahyan (UAE president) in particular and the UAE people and government in general for their limitless support
that contributed more to consolidating our people's resoluteness in the face of the Israeli occupation".

Stole it from Tony. But it's so true. CC's guilt by association is a moonbat comlib tactic. She needs to grow up.

Re: Ports
The facts
http://powerlineblog.com/archives/013223.php
Arab Co., White House Had Secret Agreement
(Administration secretly required a company in the UAE to cooperate with future US investigations before approving its takeover of operations at six ports)
http://www.breitbart.com/news/2006/02/22/D8FUHNM00.html
Homeland Security remains pretty much a joke -- air, sea, and land http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,61008,00.html . The good news is, the Dubai deal won't make things worse at Baltimore:
At least one of the ports where DP World is set to operate, Baltimore, has been dogged by security shortcomings for years. A Baltimore Sun investigation in June 2005 revealed that the port's fiber-optic alarm system on the perimeter fence malfunctioned and was usually switched off, and that port police were so understaffed that their patrol boats often dry-docked because there was no one to operate them. The newspaper also found that a pair of "video cameras" guarding the entrance to one important marine terminal were actually blocks of wood on poles.
Last summer, a tour of the port, the nation's eighth largest, revealed gaps in perimeter fences, unattended gates, surveillances systems that didn't work and insufficient police patrols on land and sea. State officials have acknowledged security gaps and said they have been working to close them.
It can only get better, apparently . . . .
Good for America

Gen. Franks: When we moved forces into Afghanistan into Camp Rino, the coordinates and maps were produced for Franks personally by the UAE. They were the first to sign up to give us overflight access and intelligence gathering aircraft.
The Dubai port is the best run port port Franks has seen. And this company runs that port.
Franks mentions several names who work for this company that he knows personally and he absolutely trusts them.
Tommy is kicking @ss on the ports issue.
I can't get any of the streams to work. Please provide commentary
Let me ask you a question. Why do you take as gospel everything that comes out in newspaper articles, yet you have no faith in the Administration that has kept us from being attacked for 5 years?
I think she was fabulous the other night. She was actually much better than Slutskaya in the areas of spirals and artistic presentation and equal in jumps. Sasha should be more than .003 ahead. Hope the judging is fair. Also watch out for Kimmie. That kid has some serious potential. My ideal outcome for tonight is USA gold, silver and bronze. We have the talent.
