“Imagine al-Qaeda or the PKK running in elections? A dictator’s democracy is a dangerous false impression,”

Could not have said it better myself.

You should never enter into a democratic contest with someone who doesn't believe in democracy, doesn't believe in the rule of law, doesn't respect the humanity of his political opponents. Such a person is deadly dangerous, your enemy; you don't settle your conflict with such a person by majority rule, you settle it by more definitive means, the dungeon and the bullet.

Your freedom is not up for grabs by the highest bidder, and no one should be allowed to run for office who is not sworn to respect your freedom. In the moment such a person is elected, you should consider your democracy to be broken, and you are in a state of revolution until he has departed the scene.

If the democrats are not careful, more and more conservatives may start to identify with this statement.
