The rumor among the local good old boys is that the alcohol in e85 isn't denatured with 2% methanol because the gasoline serves as the denaturing agent. However if a couple of ice cubes are thrown in a mason jar full of e85, the gasoline will precipitate out and can be poured off, leaving a nice cool glass of super potent 'shine.

I haven't been so down and out as of late to confirm whether this is true or not.
