I don't even think it was THAT complex. Talk show guys don't do half of their stuff themselves; they let their staff do most of their followup and research. Rush even admitted on the air the other day that he doesn't watch most of the news shows, he pays his staff to do it. "we" could simply mean the people who actually do the work.
