I highly recommend this to people who are under the huge misconception that the Dems are "about the same as Arnold".

Angelides also promised to increase taxes:

Teachers union backs Angelides for governor Treasurer says he'd raise taxes to fund education

Remember the choice: Arnold or Angelides. I recommend serious thinking, before FReepers support Angelides against Arnold.

Woohoo, expect the price of all cars and fuels to skyrocket in liberal Californi.

This will be tough on the 'poor', putting the price of fuel efficient cars further out of their reach and keeping 'dirty' cars on the street even longer.

But, hey, that's just unintended consequences, they mean well!

"If elected governor, the state treasurer vowed to introduce legislation to mandate all new vehicles sold in the state be flexible fuel cars, capable of running on any mix of gasoline and bio-fuels, like ethanol."

===

I think car manufacturers may just stop selling cars in CA, it would be too expensive for them to make such cars, people wouldn't be able to afford them.

That would make the Dems very happy, californians should stop driving cars, let's just kill the economy, and sit and watch the whales.

Yeah, that will work.

No cars under $25,000 and no fuel at all under $10.

Go California!

Phil Angelides (D)

Angelides Reports $18.4 Million In Bank

California State Treasurer Phil Angelides’ campaign committee today filed reports with the Secretary of State’s office showing that Angelides’ gubernatorial campaign raised over $4.5 million in the 2nd half of 2005, bringing the total cash-on-hand in his campaign accounts to more than $18.4 million. Angelides’ total at this stage in the campaign is a record for any gubernatorial challenger in California history, other than for self-funded candidates.

During the last six months of 2005, over 7,400 donors contributed to the Angelides for Governor campaign, bringing the total number of Angelides contributors to more than 21,000 – also a record number for a gubernatorial challenger at this stage in the campaign.

A And those who complain about Arnold's record on the environment, I am sure will be very happy with that of Angelides. Why do you think this environmental group endorses Angelides, and not Arnold?

VOTE THE COAST ENDORSES PHIL ANGELIDES FOR GOVERNOR

Vote the Coast, a statewide non-partisan grassroots organization committed to the protection of California coastal and ocean resources, today announced its support for State Treasurer Phil Angelides’ campaign for Governor.

“Phil Angelides is not only the most knowledgeable on the issues affecting the coast but also is the most committed to its protection and preservation,” said Vote the Coast Executive Director and Co-Founder Sara Wan. “Given Schwarzenegger’s record of broken promises with regards to coastal protection and the last few Governors' poor records as well, California's coast needs a champion. It is critical to elect Phil Angelides as Governor to replace the current Governor, and to restore and protect California's most valuable asset - our coast.”

“I am honored to receive Vote the Coast’s endorsement,” said Angelides. “For generations, Californians from John Muir to Phil Burton have stood up in defense of our state’s natural wonders. As Governor, I will fight every day to protect California’s coastline, work hard to protect our forests and improve the quality of the air we breathe and the water we drink. Protecting our environment will be at the top of my list of priorities.”

"As of today, California is going to be a leader in the fight against global warming," he said. "The debate is over. We know the signs, we see the threat, and we know the time for action is now."
--Arnold Schwarzenegger, June 22, 2005 at United Nations World Environment Day,

California Leading the Way on Fight Against Global Warming

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER, Governor of the State of California, by virtue of the power invested in me by the Constitution and statutes of the State of California, do hereby order effective immediately:

That the following greenhouse gas emission reduction targets are hereby established for California: by 2010, reduce GHG emissions to 2000 levels; by 2020, reduce GHG emissions to 1990 levels; by 2050, reduce GHG emissions to 80 percent below 1990 levels; and

Good afternoon.
"But, hey, that's just unintended consequences, they mean well!"

The long term goal of these people is to force us into high density cities with belts for moderate use around them to make room for farms to provide food and dachas for the elite to vacation in. The rest of the nation would be in a state of wilderness.

To do this they need to reduce the population so that it is easier to control. They need abortion, euthanasia and gun control accomplish this. For the children, of course.

Angelides Mirrors Voters' Gay Marriage Views

State Treasurer and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Phil Angelides embodies the public's slow movement toward supporting full marriage rights for same-sex couples. Today, he is an advocate for marriage equality and has repeatedly said he would sign into law a gay marriage bill if he were governor.

COMPARE WITH:

Sounds like the European model. Of course it will only work till the population implodes or the hispanics are in the majority.
