Pence is extremely impressive and principled. He gets ANY GOP backing, he'll roll. Check out his website.

Condi WHAT?? Wants to be NFL Commish? Good riddance...

Hmmm...were YOU amongst the 1.9%? :-)

Allen doesn't impresss me.The rest of the field isn't organized yet, but it's fun getting an early straw poll out to reflect back on.

Btw, I won't vote for any pro-choice candidate.

I think Giulani is the only non-conservative who could win the primary. I know the history on Senators is poor, but unless someone else enters the fray the conservatives are going to ally around one of the Senators (not McCain).

Anybody out there - Is Pence seriously considering the race?

My dream team would be Chuck Norris and Lynn Swan as VP.

Chuck Norris? Okay, I'll buy that, but what in the Hell do you see in Lynn Swann? He's an empty suited celebrity who's done nothing and wouldn't even debate the issues. I certainly hope that I just missed the sarcasm you intended.

I'd like to see a McCain/ Franks or a McCain/ Guiliani ticket...I want to win...Heck I'd even take a McCain/ Lieberman ticket...McCain is the only Republican IMHO who could beat Kerry or Clinton...he'll keep us safe for 4 more years...the War on Terror and strict constructionist judges are the only things I really care about (abortion IMHO is a states rights issue so the courts should send it back to the states to decide)...we need a leader with name recognition and media respect to win...while I love Bush I'm somewhat burned out by the adminstration's inability to effectively handle the press...sad to see them go but we need strong, new voices and I trust McCain on Iraq and the Middle East...

I live 2 miles from Ground Zero and I'd like to feel safe in my home so Guiliani, a true mensch, will work overtime to keep us safe at home. (I also live about 1 mile from Mohammed Atta's old mosque stomping grounds...Guiliani knows the landscape and he's a street fighter with major credentials...remember he wouldn't let Arafat attend some event and he gave back the Saudi money...if he wasn't married 3 times and an adulterer he'd be a great president!)

"thats easy....McCain all the way..."

The same John McCain that called the Swift Boat Veterans "Dishonest and Dishonorable"?

Don't be offended; I did put a big smile and wink next to it to indicate I was not really being serious.

However, there are parts of the country where that accent automatically triggers the reaction that "this person must be stupid". With some deep, slow drawls, I have to fight that reaction myself.

"Only prob being that neither Rudy and McCain can win the primaries. Neither can win down South"

Then why have Dixie candidates sought, obtained and won with Rudy's active campaigning and endorsements in the last two election cycles?

So you hate Santorum, you hate Swann, I think you're just a very bitter and negative person.

Those that would give up essential liberty for temporary safety........deserve neither.

the War on Terror and strict constructionist judges are the only things I really care about

Do you REALLY believe McCain would appoint strict constructionist judges? The guy who authored the McCain-Feingold assault on the 1st Amendment, among other things? We might get Sandra Day O'Connors out of him, but that's the best we could realistically hope for.
