On a related note, President Bush plans to take Hillary on his next hunting trip...his hunting dog is sick and he needed a replacement.

Interesting! I was stationed at Dreux AB, France, in the late fifties and our wing commander and his deputy were pheasant hunting. The wing commander sighted a pheasant and, as the bird flew by, swung his shotgun in an effort to track the bird. When he loosed his round, his deputy just happened to be in the edge of his pattern and took three or four pellets in his cheek. Fortunately, the wounds were minor and there was no loss of eyesight.
And, as they say, stuff happens. A few people tried to make a Federal case of this occurrence, but it didn't work. Everyone realized that it was nothing more than an accident and we simply moved on.

I first read an associated press article today that said:
Vice President Dick Cheney accidentally shot and wounded a companion during a weekend quail hunting trip in Texas, spraying the fellow hunter in the face and chest with shotgun pellets.
He was described as in stable condition by Yvonne Wheeler, spokeswoman for the Christus Spohn Health System in Corpus
Christi.
I immediately thought...."stable condition." Wow, must be pretty serious. 13 paragraphs later, the article says:
"It broke the skin," she said of the shotgun pellets. "It knocked him silly. But he was fine. He was talking. His eyes were open. It didn't get in his eyes or anything like that."
"Stable condition," and, "it broke the skin," are hardly the same!

We have one badass country.
How many other countries have a VP who shoots his friends?
You all best behave.

So far the MSM headlines are reading;
"Cheney shoots man"
I can imagine the field day the libs and dims will be having with this.
To: bayourant
The VP's USSS detail chief just had a career limiting moment. How did they let a hunting party get spread out enough to allow one shooter to be within firing range of the others?

For the rest of his life this Texan is going to be able to say
"I got shot by the Vice President of the United States."

The stupid S.O.B. shouldn't have voted for Kerry. Everyone knows Cheney is an extremely vindictive man; a man who is not to be trifled with.

"The covey flushed and the vice president picked out a bird and was following it and shot. And by god, Harry was in the line of fire and got peppered pretty good." Yeah. Meanwhile when you see the guy with the shotgun leading a bird and hes swinging around to your location its pretty much SOP to drop to the deck. Its an oldie but a goodie and it works too, provided the guy isnt trying to shoot you.

Well, at least it was a lawyer. Too bad it could't be his albino looking friendly senator from Vermont.
