Many over-the-top knee-jerk reactions are merely borne of insecurity and overcompensation. They assume life must always be controllable. The prospect that life may take a turn that doesn't fit their lifelong plan is simply terrifying. Its the hallmark of a control freak.
I couldn't have said it any better.
Even if I'd had a ~perfect~ life, I simply cannot imagine strutting around insisting that it was all because of some "personal blueprint for success" I'd created.
Seems like doing that would be practically begging that God take you down a notch or two. There's much to be said for a humble woman/man.
