I'm currently unemployed (since 2/3- contract ended)
Could you use a remote factotum?
One with a current (not active) DoD SECRET clearance?

Hmmmmm...I thought Charles Taylor was some African War Lord dude who shot his way to power in...what was it...Liberia?? LOL
Seriously, I keep up with Congress somewhat and I never heard of this guy. But sounds like he could use a good loosin'. Best of luck with that.
About your area...never set foot on NC soil, but I once stood atop Clingman's Dome in Tennessee and gazed across into North Carolina. Whew!! What an experience! This, coming from a FReeper who is Texan to the BONE.

Perhaps Charles would like to hear this performed on North Carolina radio broadcasting somewhere in the Blue Ridge Mountains? How excited would he get?
MIDI - DANCING IN THE DARK
North Carolina, listen...there are facts that you need to know
Before the next election...there is someone who has got to go
He has power and money...and the corruption really is raw
Time to show him... that nobody's above the law
Charles should be fired...Taylor's ethics troubles are quite stark
He has conspired to be keeping the voters in the dark
Start with the public records...then dig deep and guess what you see
There have been strawman deals...but, of course, that is his history
First, a shill will step forward...and Taylor's name won't show in the deal
But look closely...his big profits have been surreal
Charles should be fired...Taylor's ethics troubles have been very stark
He has conspired to be keeping the voters in the dark
When you're deceiving the public, that is something that voters will abhor
It's all about self-enrichment...the time's now to be shown the door
You will hear his denials...and he's gonna threaten to sue
But when a varmint's cornered...what else is there for the guy to do
First, a shill will step forward...and Taylor's name won't show in the deal
But look closely...his big profits have been surreal
Charles should be fired...Taylor's ethics troubles are quite stark
He has conspired to be keeping the voters in the dark
Charles should be fired...Taylor's ethics troubles have been very stark
He has conspired to be keeping the voters in the dark
He has tried to keep voters in the dark
He has tried to keep voters in the dark

I have, over the years, also posted some dumb things on FR. I'm sure the opposition will "mine" those and seek to beat me over the head with them. Heck, even I don't agree with everything I ever wrote.

I have a website. Hasn't been updated in 16 months, but it's in my tagline.

Evening, my friend,
Per Jim Robinson's conditions, I don't talk about fund-raising on FR. Anyone interested in that should visit the website in my tagline. It requires serious updating, But it's operational.

By then, filing will have closed, and all candidates in both primaries will be known. My precise next step depends on knowing that information. That is a rather Delphic comment. Is a tack out of the fray in the offing, as a possibility?

Schuler is the odds-on favorite to take the Democrat nomination here. Remains to be seen whether one of the traditional Asheville liberals, well-funded by the "edukashun" unions, will run against Schuler. That type of Democrat had the nomination to run against Taylor in the last four elections.

Back in 2004 I was considering running as an independent. Wiser heads prevailed, and I am running as a Republican.

First off, there's not much about Taylor I can find in the news about this 'scandal' except from a fringe paper that doesn't look much more than a blog. Secondly, you do realize Taylor is a respected Republican who received a 92 lifetime rating by the ACU (third highest of the NC delegation behind only Sue Myrick (94)who will be running for governor in 2008 and Rep. Walter Jones (95)). Third, the Democratic candidate will possibly be Heath Shuler, the failed NFL quarterback. Granted he didn't do that well in football but he could very well carry Swain County just being the hometown boy. It will take name recognition to hold this seat. Fourth, Taylor's been elected to office seven straight times. He's not going anywhere. Taylor will be the Republican candidate in this election.
But through out some more ridiculous 'lyrics' why don't you?

Following Jim Robinson's rules, I won't talk fund-raising on FR. Please visit my website. (See tagline.)

No, a tack out of the fray is NOT in the offing. It's just hard to plan a war until you know what nations are involved.

You are too honest to ever be elected, John. (I hope the good people of WNC prove me wrong.)

I wish you the best. If you are elected, please don't lose your idealism or become corrupted by the "perks" of D.C. I don't know if you have a PAC, but please avoid that pitfall if possible... be beholden to your constituents and no one else.
Again, good luck!
