You called it in your tagline.
How much ya wana bet it goes out to sea around D.C.?
I am SO glad it's going SE of me here in Ohio.
I have some things to do outside this weekend and a snowstorm would really screw with plans :)
My husband's Boy Scout troop is doing wilderness camping in the N.GA mountains this weekend!
He's over at the scout hut right now briefing the boys (and their parents) on cold-weather camping - and he and the other scoutmasters are doing a pack-check to make sure that the kids have what they're supposed to (and DON'T have cotton socks, sweatshirts, etc. COTTON is ROTTEN!)
He's taking his zero degree bag AND his minus-20 bag and will layer them. Plus the small double-wall tent. Plus every piece of long underwear he owns . . . and his Sorels.
And my son is going to a paintball match . . . and I'm taking the dog out shooting. But at least we'll have a place to get warm . . .
There is the potential for more than what that map shows.
I am so jealous since out here in the plains it is going to be warm and dry without much of a cool down at all.
I haven't seen snow since DECEMBER.
Please SNOW.
Global warming or Al Gore is giving a speech on global warming in Florida.
Yep, two things cranking up - a winter storm and the Accuweather hype machine.
PS: the models have moved inland approx. 50-75miles in the last 6 hours.

About time, local ski areas have been suffering. Even in Vermont (although they are way off to the left, they have great skiing)it's been lousy!!!!!
We're overdue for one of these. This winter has been remarkably mild here in Richmond, we've only had one snow and that technically wasn't even winter since it was on December 5.
Then again, since Richmond always rides the rain/ice/snow line on storms like these, we'll probably only get cold 33-degree rain out of it.

let it snow!
let it snow!
let it snow!
I don't listen to anything that Bastardi says.
No way will hell freeze over, lol! Central Texas weathermen are ecstatic that they can finally predict something besides warm and dry. It will only get up to the mid-50's tomorrow and Saturday. Yay! Going to find my sweaters that haven't been used in over a year. This may be my only chance to wear them this winter.
Thanks for the thread, Angus. This should be a fun weekend.
Betcha we get about 1" in Toms River.
Here's the forecast for the Baltimore area. Let the panic begin!
A BAND OF MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW IS LIKELY TO DEVELOP ACROSS THE REGION SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND SATURDAY NIGHT. AT THIS TIME...A SWATH OF SNOWFALL OF 5 INCHES OR MORE IS LIKELY ACROSS THE AREA... WITH ACCUMULATIONS UP TO TEN INCHES POSSIBLE.
The forecast here in Massachusetts is for at least a foot of snow. Depressing, I must say.
Oh well. Summer's over.
New model just came in .... storm is trending east and out to sea....may be a great storm if you are a fish, but the EC may get screwed....
