It was a "Class" act alright, minus the "Cl".

Bush shouldn't have attended. The presence of that screwball Carter and the radicalization of many Black clergy should have been a tip-off as to what to expect.

He should have sent a wreath instead - a very small cheap one.

By the way, why the heck do these d@mn "churches" get away with tax-free status when they continue to use their pulpits as political sounding boards???!!!

Bush shouldn't have attended? He is the President!

And this was a funeral. Why should he not attend because of the idiocy and inappropriate behavior of others.

HE belonged there. Jimmy Carter did not.

the ironic thing is...Bush didn't attend Rosa Parks funeral and he was given so much crap. And now he attends a civil rights icon's funeral and it's used as an opportunity to attack him. What utter hypocrisy...
It is certainly a tragic and unfortunate reality that many churches shirk their pastoral, Christian duties and instead resort to political pandering...and for what? The church is no place for political maneuvering just as much as the government is no place for church matters to be preached.

"Bush shouldn't have attended."

If Bush hadn't attended, he would have been criticized for not doing so. This worked out for him best -- he came across as the classy person he really is, and the Democrats came across as the hateful racists that they really are. This funeral was nothing more than another Paul Wellstone memorial political rally, and it will have the same result -- public anger at the vulgar displays of hatred.

OK.........I see what you were saying now.

I misinterpreted because the "Class Act" in the article was referring to President Bush, so when you took off the Cl......you see what I thought?

Anyway, sorry about the misunderstanding.
