Putin's a wise fox.

Always let the People vote, have a say, get their way on every important, symbolic, passion-raising thing.
That sort of democracy is the kind that works best of all, and makes people happy with their government.

Just don't let them near the levers of the economy.

If Americans were wise in their government, the party that wanted to stay in power forever would let Americans vote on abortion and things gay, on guns and smoking and porn and prostitution, impose the will of the majority in each case, and keep letting those issues percolate through the direct ballot process.

And then just run the economy whatever way they wanted to.

The economy is doing great in Russia, and the people do have a say in it. Indeed, I had a return on my Russian mutual fund last year of 51.9%. It sounds as if you are one of the sheep who believe the propaganda machine of the Russian oligarchs (AKA Mafia). The Russian people want the oligarchs to be reigned in, which Putin cannot do without losing western investments.

The election will be as fixed as every other election in countries like Russia and Iran.

Final results in:

Keep Lenin in glass coffin on display = 110% of vote
