People on this thread are unaware that pot smoking has been linked to psychotic episodes.
I know a family who has been thru this. Their 21 year old son had a psychotic break after smoking pot. And it wasn't his first time smoking it. Unfortunately, he was time bomb waiting to go off, very possibly as this young man in this article may have been.
Their son's psychiatrist has seen this happen a number of times in young people, who had been described as "normal" by all their family and friends before their psychotic break.

But was your friend's son pre-disposed to psychosis anyway?

People have also gone stark raving mad from eating sugar I imagine that boy could of had a psychotic episode if he ate enough twinkies or Ho Ho's.
