You have to wonder what people like Leahy are so afraid of. He has been involved in politics for many, many years. I'm sure he has some MAJOR skeletons in his closet that he is afraid may be exposed if the POTUS is given wide authority to conduct domestic surveilance. Oh goody, Kennedy is up....
Or, it could be that he's just plain stupid. I heard him make some remarks on Face the Nation yesterday that I'd expect to hear from a 9th grader who had just been booted off the novice debate team.
