Good Monday morning, once again, fellow political jinkies. The NFL season may be over, but the political season inside the Beltway is 24/7/365. So join us, if you can, as those wacky Dems on the Senate Judiciary committee reprise their pitiful efforts to once again smear President Bush and score political points..

Why do they keep asking him whether he minds bringing other AGs before the committee? What's the point of that?

It's stunning how often the senators quote the NYT and others as solid information. It's part of their Organization/11

If this was a courtroom, I'd move to strike all your questions because the record was so much more clear before you asked them. That was good....

True, is should meet with resistance. But it should be the form of an amendment to the law. Not to an inquisition of the President for USING the law as written.

He's trying to force Spectre into bringing in the Cindy Sheehan types -- you know, the ones who hate Bush.

I think so. He's the one who held the press conference announcing him and represented that he was part of the decision that named Fitzgerald.

If a war be made by invasion of a foreign nation, the President is not only authorized but bound to resist force by force. He does not initiate the war, but is bound to accept the challenge without waiting for any special legislative authority. And whether the hostile party be a foreign invader, or States organized in rebellion, it is none the less a war, although the declaration of it be 'unilateral.' Prize Case, 67 U.S. 635, 669

Thanks for the recap. Frankly I muted Schumer and will continue to do so whenever he appears.
To: Howlin
Schumer might as well admit that he is on the terrorist payroll.

Why do they keep asking him whether he minds bringing other AGs before the committee? What's the point of that? Because Gonzales was once the President's legal Counsel and they want an ok that former WH employees can testify against the President

Nifty little arrangement. The dems leak classified material and out right lies to the LSM and then when it is reported, they quote it all for political points. They have been doing it for years.
To: Pukin Dog
I don't believe Chuckie's trying to get Gonzales to reveal classified information about operations.
Good for Gonzales for refusing to answer.

Schumer tries to get the AG to disclose further operations of the program. The AG deftly declines to compromise national security. Twice.
