Interesting story I learned just this wkend from Rick Gosselin of the Dallas Morning News: The Pittsburgh Steelers were offered the moniker, "America's Team" by the NFL in the 70's but they refused it. Didn't want anything to do with it. They then offered it to Dallas, which happily accepted. The rest is history. I think Pitt should have accepted it because they have been the football darlings of the media for decades now.
