What I've heard and read on the subject tells me that Castro and the Mafia are the two most logical suspects.

Bill Bonanno, son of Godfather Joe Bonanno from one of the biggest New York mob families, has written a book where he says his father told him that his guys killed Kennedy. Apparently it was partly payback for Bobby Kennedy coming down so hard on them as AG after they had helped get Jack elected (Joe Senior had called in some favors with his old partners). Killing Bobby would only have made the heat worse, but taking out JFK would effectively end Bobby's reign as AG since Johnson hated his guts.

Was Castro prepared to do business with the mafia?

From what I understand, following the assassination attempts on his own life, Castro would do business with anyone to get Kennedy. And he had something the Mafia of the day wanted badly, a secure base for transshipping drugs into the US, particularly from Central and South America. And Castro would get hard currency and help in getting items that the embargo kept out of his hands.

They each got what they wanted in Kennedy's death and their cooperation on that cemented the deal for doing business going forward.

Add to that logical framework the info that there was a known Mafia hit man identified as being in the train yards behind the "grassy knoll" in Dealey Plaza (there is a lot of smoke surrounding this story, but it checks against known facts). That hit man is Woody Harrelson's father (yep, that moonbat Woody Harrelson). Charles Harrelson is now serving a life term for assassinating a judge in a drug related mob hit. He is suspected in several other contract killings. When he was arrested for killing the judge he confessed to having killed Kennedy, though he later retracted that statement.

This is actually the version of these events that make the most sense to me. I also think the Warren Commission knew that Castro was at least involved, if not the prime mover of the assassination. But they had to cover that up to avoid WW3. If they had put forward evidence, even circumstantial, that Castro was behind the assassination the American people would have demanded that we nuke his sorry ass. And the Soviets probably convinced Johnson, who had no love for President Kennedy, that they would retaliate if we took any action, let alone that.

I wonder if the evidence will, in fact, be released in the next few years. Wasn't the evidence sealed for 50 years?

Now, Castro had no reason to go after MLK or RFK, but the mob did have reasons for hating RFK and fearing him if he got elected in '68. However, the PLO got there first. And MLK was a straight up murder for hire by one of Robert Byrds fellow travelers.

I know about this and have always suspected Woody's career was a reward to Charles Harrelson for his loyalty and silence. You know, like Frankie Fountaine.

I grew up in El Paso in the 70's and know of thes people like the Chagras and Harrelson. I hung out with Lee Chagra's cute niece when I was a teen.

Jackie Kennedy supposedly audio taped what she knew, and donated to a university with the stipulation that it not be released for 50 or 100 years after her death.

I doubt we'll ever hear it. The audio tape may not even last that long.
