I watched it and thought it was awsome jack is a kickass portrayal of an American Patriot IMHO

Sorry, but I just watched the A&E show on Flight 93.

Those people were patriots.

And that story is far more compelling than ANYTHING I have seen on 24.

Right there is your problem. 24 is fiction. It has never claimed to be anything else. Why are you taking it so seriously?

Because I think it grossly misrepresents the enemy we are facing, the nature of the threat and the methods and tactics that could be used.

What if someone made a movie in 1944 about a war not involving Japan or Germany, and that gave the enemy technology that did not exist to fight us?

And beyond that, Rush's logic is stupid. 24 makes money, so don't criticize it. And that's nonsense. Rush criticizes liberal shows and movies all the time, and many of those make money.

I do! That's one of my favorite parts, Jack kicking @ss! I agree with Rush though, relax folks, it's a TV show, and we haven't even scratched the surface yet.

I dislike the show on a lot of levels. I think it mispreprents the actual, typical terrorist threat this country faces. It mispreresents the counterterrorism methods available to us. And the storylines are nonsense - a nuclear override device that can control every nuke in the country? Cut me a break.

In other words, 24 is as realistic as a James Bond storyline. It's junk. But people hold it up as an example of how the war on terror should be fought.

I agree with a lot of what you say, but it is really cool when Bauer starts to cut a guy's eye out to get him to talk. Makes "Bush spying" look like child's play, hahaha...

When this show started production, 9/11 hadn't happened yet. Season 1 was delayed because of 9/11. They were uncertain of even airing it. Only 13 eps had been made. It aired and was a hit. You are expecting it to be realistic when it's clearly fiction and was never meant to be anything else.

In other words, 24 is as realistic as a James Bond storyline. It's junk. But people hold it up as an example of how the war on terror should be fought.

People like it because the character, Jack Bauer, fights back. They like it for the same reason people liked Superman. Bauer is a fictional hero and people want heroes. You take 24 much too seriously.
