Everyone & Quentin & Hildy - I came in late again - have to go back and read the posts on Haleigh; meanwhile, regarding Terri, all you have to do is just watch ONE (1) video of Terri to realize how alive she was. Just click on the link, scroll down to post #174, click on that link and watch:

THEN, tell me she was PVS - I DARE YOU. Especially you, Hildy! You've said you've seen this video, BUT, I don't believe you've seen this one - you couldn't and still believe "she had no soul", as you love to say. Someone who was as alive and alert as Terri was. I'm still so sickened as to what they did to her - I'll NEVER get over it. I'm praying they won't be able to get their clutches on Haleigh.

I'm sorry, but I just don't see the same thing in the videos that you obviously do. I also keep remembering that the rest of the four hours of video provide the context that showed even more clearly that there was no cognition there.

I love that video! You can see the special relationship between father and daughter. Bob is said to have always been able to cheer Terri up, and make her laugh. He sure did that in this video. She's not laughing mindlessly. She laughs only at the appropriate times. When he asks her if she remembers how her eye used to "roll in," she says "yeah," and she laughs. Then he talks about how it used to upset her Mom, and Terri makes an unpleasant sound, as though she feels bad about that part of it, and at the same time still laughing. What a character!
