Does this mean that Martinez is running for reelection? In certain court cases, the Feds have an obligation to get involved. That is when the state court is shown to be corrupt, or incompetent. Unfortunately it is becoming more and more common across a whole spectrum of issues before courts.

Looks like Martinez, and Frist, turn towards the prevailing winds, but is not up for reelection, just being, uhhhhh, RINO. Here is what World Net Daily quotes:

"But there's no question that I'm a Republican and I want to support my party's nominee for senator,'' said Martinez, adding "politics will come later.''
