Euthanasia plagued Belgium in 2005: Report

Brussels: Some 400 cases of euthanasia were reported in Belgium last year, up from 200 cases four years ago when the practice was first legalised, according to figures published on Tuesday.
About one third of assisted suicides are the result of a surgical procedure. In some cases, medical treatment is stopped or not started at all, said Wim Distelmans, chairman of Belgium's euthanasia evaluation committee.

Good pics with that link, but a poignant reminder of America's darkest days.
I think that what happened to Terri, rubbed everyone's noses into the ugliness that is euthanasia. At least starvation and dehydration. Murder is still murder, but if you're gonna kill someone, give them a hot shot. 8, 13, 24 days of prolonged agony, is the most barbaric, disgusting thing I've ever heard of. I don't believe in euthanasia, btw, I'm just saying there are better ways to murder an inconvenient person.
The Netherlands have been dabbling in assisted suicide, euthanasia, and infanticide for quite a few years.
