BykrBayb, LifeSiteNews site is down this morning at least when I tried it, but this other site is carrying the same story. Bioethicking wholesale.

Just after Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans rumors circulated that at least one hospital had euthanized patients during the mayhem. LifeSiteNews.com reported in September 2005, that an unnamed doctor admitted to a UK newspaper that such activities had taken place at Memorial Medical Center. In October another doctor at the hospital confirmed in a CNN interview that he suspected such activities and admitted he left the hospital saying he would rather abandon patients than actively kill them. Later in October hospital workers were subpoenaed for an investigation.

Bob and Mary Schindler, parents of Terri Schiavo, will be speaking at the city’s third annual Priest Appreciation Dinner, at the Clock Tower Feb. 24. The Schindlers are founders of the Terri Schindler-Schiavo Foundation, Inc., a group dedicated to ensuring the rights of disabled, elderly and vulnerable citizens against care rationing, euthanasia and medical killing. Joe Scheidler, founder of the Pro-Life Action League, will attend as an honored guest.

Fr. Brian A.T. Bovee, Rector of the Oratory of St. Mary and Priest of the Institute of Christ the King, will offer a sung traditional Latin High Mass prior to the dinner.

If that story ever breeches MSM, there will be some very unhappy family members to deal with. Just months before Katrina hit, the state was audited and people were indicted for misusing funds meant to repair levees, etc. Someone on a long ago thread mentioned the possibility that Blanco's foot dragging in the aftermath was due to her fear of discovery. She was afraid that if FEMA and the government rolled in immediately, they'd unearth some pretty bad stuff.

I'm not typing too coherently this morning. Anyway, if I remember correctly, the person who made the comment(paraphrased), is from LA.

I don't know how anyone could have prevented the destruction, but dammit they knew this was coming and the hospitals should have been evacuated, with mandatory evacuation starting 48 hrs ahead of landfall for everyone else...with a brain that is. The Heineken guy is my desktop wallpaper. Someone made a parody ad for Heineken thanking New Orleans for making them number 1 ;-)
