**Just about everybody wanted to finish off a battered child, and only a few days after she was first brought to the hospital. **

Exactly. :( :( Early this morning I read the article in the Globe, without registering. Now they are requiring registration. The hits to their site have probably increased dramatically due to Haleigh. Seems like they are taking advantage of the interest in Haleigh, by now requiring registration information.

IIRC, one of the doctors who were quoted in the article, said she had lost her hearing and vision, among other things. Obviously he/she was wrong. Haleigh has since responded by picking up a specific toys, which requires both vision and hearing. No wonder they want to keep her records a secret. Weren't the doctors names also a secret?

If it were NOT for the abusing step-father's law suit, Haleigh might be dead right now, due to removal of her respirator and food and water. The step-father, whom I'm in no way defending, was the only person who filed suit to stop the DSS from killing Haleigh, which forced a delay in killing her.

The step-father's law suit was covered on Hannity's show sometime last month. Wendy Murphy (real mom's lawyer) and the step-father's lawyer were both guests on the show. As much as I've supported Hannity in the past, I was very disappointed by his interview of both lawyers. Hannity appeared to be more concerned, that the abuser be charged with murder, rather than being concerned about Haleigh's life and the DSS's desire to end her life.

Perhaps Hannity couldn't grasp the real facts of the case, or maybe I misunderstood his concern. I wonder if there is a transcript of the interview?? Getting the facts of case from the media is becoming more and more difficult. A good example is the current muslim cartoon coverage. The media, for the most part, neglects to mention who is behind the very organized riots. They focus, instead, on a Denmark cartoonist and blame him for starting the mess. When in reality, the worst cartoons were created by muslim imams, who toured the ME, with the intention of insiting hate and riots.

The MSM uses their powerful media to promote an agenda of death. In Terri's case they quoted a bogus poll which fasely stated the public's support of Terri's death. In fact, a later poll, showed just the opposite. I liked what FV pointed out. She reminded us of a FR poll, which showed an overwhelming majority on FreeRepublic were against Terri's court ordered death.

Inspite of the FR poll, a few freepers continue to post in support of Michael Schiavo. Some use State's Rights and the so called rule of law, as a reason to support Terri's death. Have they forgotten the State of Florida's law - Terri's Law. Where is their outrage over a very liberal Supreme Court of Florida, over-turning, Flordia's (STATE RIGHTS) legislature? Could this be what Delay meant by judical activism? hmmmmm

Gordon W Watts, while not an attorney, was able to convience at least some on the Florida Supreme Court, of the valididy of the law. The result of Watts' filing was 4-3. Sadly, it wasn't enough to uphold Terri's Law, but was better than what the governor received - a 7-0 ruling. Gordon was a hero in the fight to save Terri, imho. I hope some of the books written by her supporters, have reflected Gordon's heart felt work for Terri.

Several days ago, I wrote most of this post and probably wouldn't have posted it, until I realized it's still relevant. Both Terri and Haleigh's diagnosis were wrong concerning their vision, in addition to the PVS diagosis. Doctors are not gods, but only mere human beings. Some make mistakes, others deliberately distort their findings in order to promote an evil agenda of death. Cranford said one thing in the video of Terri concerning her abilities, but because of his favored status, his own words were not heard by the court. Thanks to bjs for pointing out this glaring outrage.

Congress was RIGHT to request a second look at Terri's case. Those who are now back-tracking on what they did, are fools. How can Frist be critized for expressing doubt over Terri's PVS diagnosis, without seeing her in person, when Greer NEVER saw Terri other than via video, but gave her a death sentence? What kind of insane logic is that?

Sean will doubtless correct his view when he thinks about it. The DSS is another matter. I felt right away that the prospect of sticking the stepfather with a murder rap was very much a factor in DSS thinking. At the same time, it would have buried the story and covered up their past failures to protect the child despite sixteen reports of her being abused. They're figuring if Haleigh dies, that whole ugly story of earlier abuse gets overshadowed and forgotten, and the DSS gets off scot free.
