The problem that most fence sitters have is that they're not really fence sitters - ever notice how none of them ever have a list of questions for creationists to clear up? There are no questions for creationists to clear up because every question has the same answer -- God did it.

Those unwilling to do the work necessary to understand science often feel threatened by other people having knowledge. That's it in a nutshell.

Great job with your list! What's fun is to read evo posts below that actually CONFIRM many of your points by demonstrating their arrogance, condescension and ignorance.
To: plain talk
I have no idea why long, fact filled posts bother you guys. You don't read them.
Does the very existence of information of which you are determined to remain deliberately ignorant disturb you so much you can't simply ignore it, but have to prevent it from existing?

Information? Or data? Data packed as spam to shout down an opponent? A thoughtful poster would include a hyperlink so as to not waste space and bandwidth in such a childish manner.
To: plain talk; Syncretic
Data packed as spam to shout down an opponentHow can you be shouted down by something that doesn't coincide with or interfere with your posts? Nothing one person posts prevents in the tiniest degree anyone else from contributing.
What you don't like is a reminder of the sheer body of scientific evidence you have to discount to believe in creationism. So you'd rather whine until you've gotten Ich banned or silenced, which I'm sure is the goal of this little campaign. Then, having shut him up, you'll complain about the refusal of evos to debate, as syncretin did, simultaneously complaining at the lengthiness with which Ichneumon is debating.
Most would-be censors are petty tyrants.

"The ToE is the very underpinning of much of the natural sciences. If you don't think that an understanding of biology or genetics is 'in any way valuable,' why should we listen to your opinion of what is or is not science?"
ToE makes up a large part of natural history. It definitely does not serve as an "underpinning" of hard sciences like physics or chemistry. Contrarily, evolution would be based on these sciences, rather than vice versa.
It is not necessary to embrace universal common descent in order to understand biology or genetics. Darwin made useful and valuable contributions to science, but the entire theory is not central to natural science in the way you are claiming.

It has nothing to do with my point of view or that of a spam poster. I would object to a Creationist doing the same thing. There is a difference between quantity and quality, data and information, spam and a thoughtful post. I was commenting on the style being used.
A better alternative is post a hyperlink to such information.

Ich provides links, and he also segues between segments. Much of the writing in his posts is in fact his own.

I believe evolution on a macro level exists. The proof is everywhere. But as for micro-evolution, I am sorry, ... I think you got your 'talking-points' all mixed up ...

Whether you saw it or not is irrelevant. I have responded at least once to a Creationist for exactly the same thing.

Bottom line -- personalities may make communication difficult, but the truth is the truth, no matter how you say it. But it's also true that the way that you say it can make it easier to understand and accept. We agree! ;^)

"Yes it is."
Oh, well in that case you convinced me. I should have thought of that. How careless of me. /s
What biological or genetic function fails to work if some forms of life arose independent of some others?
BTW, a good friend of mine is completing his doctorate in molecular biology, and he told me he does not embrace common descent. I think he may understand biology and genetics since a major medical institution is employing him to research cancer.
Go ahead and demonstrate though how it is not possible to understand biology and genetics without embracing common descent.
