I was in the dentist office all morning and the cocktail hour started at 4:45 instead of 6:00 today. That said, there was an opportunity to enjoy three strong cocktails before and during the President's address.

But now to my own state of the Onion Address:

"We are at war!!"

If we were not... we would have an eternity to improve without threat or challenge. Education...yep! Productivity...Yep! Jobs, families, kids, pets? Yep!

So then what the heck is standing in the way...what is this war we are supposedly in?

Well, forget real people and decent people and the light of liberty shining on all Americans...

This battle is about a cruel, false faith...a faith that hurts its most devout believers most of all.

Before saying anything more about what faith I am referring to...let me ask men and women of all faiths...search your hearts and souls. Search your consciences. Ask yourselves...have you been duped, are you the unwitting victims of your ancestors. Are your grandparents and great-grandparents victims of an untrue religion?

That is what threatens our world today...is your God a God of Love and Kindness and Forgiveness...

Or is your god a god of destruction and hatred and anger?

This is the question...whatever the President might have said...this is the question. Which god do you follow?

If your god is a god of destruction...why do you believe he will not destroy you and all you love...and, indeed, destroy himself.

Tomorrow, my toothache will have disappeared (however poorly I might otherwise feel.)...

But you...how will you decide?

Is your God a God of love and creation...or of destruction?
