He will have to show confidence on all of them, especially the War on Terror, but also the impending oil crisis.

Evidently, he's going to say that we are addicted to oil and propose ways to break the addiction.

I don't mind being addicted to oil, it just needs to be OUR oil. If an alternate source of energy comes along to replace oil, great, but we need to start exploring areas like ANWR. I know Bush has proposed this, but I can't believe it hasn't happened yet, especially since 9/11.

The Arab oil embargo three decades ago should have resulted in complete independence by now. But, it hasn't. We can place blame, of course, but that won't gain us energy independence. Dubya will tout his hydrogen fuel cell tech again, and maybe some other high tech. I hope to hear that we will immediately begin building 80 new nuke plants, which is what is happening in Asia [80 new nuke plants now under construction in Asia].
