I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that Bush supported a Bill that did not include a path to citizenship. Something similar to Kyl/Cornyn.

Fruitpickers can stand in line and get a visa like everyone else outside the U.S. If we need to re-vamp the visa system and create a guest worker program, fine, let's do so. But the millions here ILLEGALLY already should NOT be forgiven and allowed to stay.
And if we haven't will to deport those here ILLEGALLY already, in a time of war, how will we ever enforce the departure of those granted a guest worker visa?
Common sense and experience with our bought-n-sold politicians shows it's a sham - SHAMNESTY.

If it makes you feel better, remove "horrific".

I cannot wait for the speech tonight! Neither can I. I just hope the loony demonstrators outside the capitol building will be kept far enough away that they can't interfere in any way with the President's speech.

Yes, immigration enforcement and border security is Bush's biggest failure. I believe his biggest failure is adding on 3 trillion to the national debt. You think your richer because your home has appreciated and now you pay an extra 50% property tax.
Bush has lost his mind! Thanks for the $300 dollar tax break. All tax breaks were erased by inflation.
Also, if Iran and other countries goes with the PetroEuro's the US Dollar is finished. Can't wait for TSOTU speech tonight.
P.S. I worked at the RNC for 7 years. This Bush like his father loves to print money. The way I see it, were all F;*^#d!

I agree with you. However, the best way to deal with the millions of illegals already here may be to put them in the worker program for a set amount of time, and then enforce the rules of the program so they must return to their home countries.

It makes me feel better to know that even a US citizen like McVeigh can terrorize and murder hundreds of people and that there are millions of illegal aliens who reside here illegally who don't. One is not a qualifier for the other.

I agree with you on spending, which is an embrassment under a Republican majority, but inflation has been in the low single digits for years.

Thanks for the link. If he stuck to the principles outlined in that release, and really enforced the law and required workers to return home after a set period of time, it would work, and I would support it.
I'm just afraid it would get watered down in the Senate, and McCain and Kennedy will get thier way. I hope I am wrong though.

The 14th amendment deals with jurisdiction. If the parents are subject to the authority of another nation, the baby does not necessarily deserve citizenship. Anchor babies are a moot point. Those that favor illegal immigration do NOT know the true meaning of the amendment. Any amount of googling the terms "anchor baby" and "amendment" will resolve this misunderstanding.
"The correct interpretation of the 14th Amendment is that an illegal alien mother is subject to the jurisdiction of her native country, as is her baby."

I agree. Something, even if not perfect in execution, is better than nothing at all.

This is not as easily solved as the Hyterics pretend. It is a major issue only because Bush can be attacked through it. And it is far more than a question of will. There are many groups here who support the Illegals and do everything they can to keep the law away from them.
When NO major city will allow its police to assist even where it is suffering financially from the impact.
If you believe the reason the feds don't do more is because of Congress being bought off then there is little to say. That is far from the truth.
To: moehoward
California's outstanding felony warrants are for Illegals. Look into what percentage of inmates are Where did you get these statistics from?
To: Howlin
I wish there was another way, but we just have to accept the fact that there is just not going to be any wholesale door to door search and deportations of illegals. There is another way: Get them to self-deport by cutting off all their taxpayer freebees and heavily fining employers who hire them. No incentives to stay (or come in the first place), no illegal immigration problem.

Don't post to me, either, you freak.Well look at this............ who is the poster who is being more than ignorant?
Admin Moderator, I tried to give another poster kindness, and this is what happens. Is this a posse or something of the sort?
May I ask that you please ask these "girls" to get control of themselves.
I was trying to be kind.
