OK. I am ready to get smacked for this but . . . gulp . . . I think Specter should get some kind of an award. He made sure the nomination was never in real doubt.

Yes, he let the Dems get away with their stalling and other nonsense. But he never wavered in his support. As the leader of the RINOs he was able to keep almost all of them intact.

I was as upset as anybody around here about him getting the chairmanship, but he has been able to get the job done. All I care about is results, and we got them.

Whatever the reason or the force behind it, he has come through for us the last 3 times in a row (Thomas, Roberts, and Alito).

Now I will brace myself for the certain missiles headed my way.

Specter did a good job with both Roberts and Alito, he deserves credit for that.

The GOP caucus on the SJC got his attention when they threatened to remove him...Arlen did the job...and his smack-down of Orca will long be remembered...but Spector's victory is one of "process" rather than of conviction..Still, I'll give him an "atta boy!"
