My first question is who is Michael Swift? There seems to be no other Google reference to him other than this essay. Does anyone know anything else about him. David Brock, you reading this?
Yet it says he was "asked" to submit this to the Congressional Record in 1987, even though it may have been published elsewhere as early as 1972.
Who asked Michael Swift to submit it? Who was the administrator who gave the okay for inclusion?
Also, "this is an outre..."
Outre means an exaggeration, going beyond.
Seems pretty clear it was meant as a satire, even if it is coming true.
It reads as if it could have been a satire written by one of us in 1982.

Forgot to ping you to #77. Michael Swift was a pen name and it was supposedly satire.

Tried a Congressional Record search, but it kept coming up "This page cannot be displayed". Danged dial-up...you might have luck if you have DSL, which I can't get in our area yet. The website is:

Congressional Record Index
