Graham has already said he will pull the trigger if they do this.

Exactly right. Add Kent Conrad to the list that will vote for cloture. The Dems don't have the votes to filibuster. The Kerry/Kennedy theatrics are just that. It is all about appeasing their fringe base.

I'm curious: does this make her one of those partisans she's always condemning?

Big deal. It's still about 65 votes for cloture.
55 republicans
Landrieu, Pryor, Dorgan, Conrad, Johnson, Byrd, Nelson of Nebraska, Lieberman, Lincoln and a possible few others.

Per NRO....
Pryor: No to Alito, No to Filibuster
[Jonathan Adler 01/27 02:47 PM]
Arkansas Senator Mark Pryor will vote against Alito, but he will not support a filibuster, AP reports
To: Howlin
Will he go against McLame if he decides Alito will give the President too much power? McLame is pro choice also, I believe.
I don't trust Graham.

Huh? The Dems are in a real pickle now. If they aren't careful, the crazies will launch a 3rd party candidate. Maybe Chavez.
To: A.Hun
He absolutely stated that if they filibuster, he'd pull the trigger.

This is interesting because there is no filibuster yet. Is she believing it will happen?

I am afraid that Frist will not have the support of enough Republicans, but did see a post that he had already polled on the nuclear option, last week end and had the votes. My guess is that the Democrats are going to use the week end to work on some of the Republicans who might be wishy washy.
