You never know what a "Dimwit" is actally thinking but both were clear on their opposition to a filibuster
Just heard on CNN that Senate aides are saying the number of votes for cloture may actually be as high as 70.
You are right. I have to stop going over there where the moonbats cluster.
Oh, beat me to it! I liked Garrett's comment, too!
"You are right. I have to stop going over there where the moonbats cluster"
Hope you washed your hands.
THis is the real reason she changed her mind and decided to vote, she knows CIndy would beat her! LOLLOLOLOLOL
Wow, Sheehan takes the award for delusions of grandeur...
You have to understand that leftist Democrats are liars. Feinstein earlier said she was against a filibuster. But that was before there was one.
Many years ago, Biden told reporters that if President Reagan were to nominate Robert Bork for the Supreme Court, he'd vote for him because he was clearly qualified. Reagan then nominated Bork and Biden voted "no".
The thing is, Biden didn't really expect Reagan to nominate Bork. After all, Reagan sort of backed down on his first Supreme Court nomination by sending up Sandra Day O'Connor. Biden thus pledged to support Bork thinking he'd never have to do it. It made him look open-minded, bi-partisan, etc. to make such a claim. Once confronted with the reality of a Bork nomination, Biden simply broke his word and made up some phony excuse (e.g., "Bork turned out to be more radical than I previously thought").
Ditto for Feinstein. She didn't figure there would be a filibuster, so she looked "mainstream" by opposing one. Either that, or possibly she knew all along there would be one and planned to do the "I originally opposed a filibuster but after seeing how dangerous Alito is I'm simply compelled to support one" routine. This latter routine is staged to make it look like Alito is such a "far-out extremist" that even "moderates" who were originally opposed to a filibuster have now seen the need for one.
Either way, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Call or e-mail wavering Senators and politely support Alito if you wish. It can't hurt. But what we're really seeing is a desperate leftist loony fringe that can't stop Alito, and is trying its best to placate its savage and totally unhinged constituents who are demanding one.
If they fail to invoke cloture on Monday, the Rats will be in a heap of trouble with mainstream America. So cloture will be invoked, Alito will be confirmed the next morning, and the likes of Kerry, Feinstein, Hillary, Schumer, etc. will all rush to the cameras to express horror and beg their patholgical supporters for more money.
Thank You for Helping To Stop Alito! by Senator Edward M Kennedy Fri Jan 27, 2006 at 04:10:51 PM PDT
At events throughout Martin Luther King Day earlier this month commemorating the great civil rights leader, countless people who care about civil rights today emphasized the major threat that Alito poses to our values of equality and justice if he becomes a member of the Supreme Court, with the power to roll back so much of the extraordinary progress we've made. I was inspired by their passion and commitment to defend the progress we've made in our country's history.
Senator Edward M Kennedy's diary :: :: Those conversations - and the overwhelming calls, letters, and e-mails I've received make it clear that the issue is all-important if our progress is to continue. The right wing is salivating over the prospect of Justice Alito on the Supreme Court, and the Republican majority in the Senate intends to rubber-stamp the nomination. The only realistic way to stop this nightmare is to stand up using tool we have.
The Senate Judiciary Committee hearings confirmed our worst fears, and we have to take the strongest possible stand against him.
We owe it to this generation and future generations of Americans to oppose any such nominee who will roll back the progress we've made.
The next three days will make all the difference in whether enough Democrats are willing to stand firm against this shameful nomination. Thank you for all of your support, and for all you can do between now and then to help us in this crucial vote.
I will not be able to stay in front of the computer, as I have quite a bit to take care of today. Crystal will monitor this post, though, and I've asked her to keep me updated with your feedback.
This entire thing is a meltdown L0L
All 10 of them. ouch... say it isn't so.
I hope they do fillibuster. It will be pathetic, and do more damage to their cause.
Yeah, we should call Salazar and tell him we WANT him to fillibuster.
neither do i... the senate is made up of a bunch of GOP weanies... get ready to be disgusted...

"Drowned that Koepechne bitch and got away with it. It's er' uh' great to be a Kennedy here, uh, up in Taxachusetts!"
Er, uh,

He's a piece of work
Thanks for posting this. DiFi is one of my two senators. (Blech!) She likes to pretend she is a moderate. This rips her carefully cultivated moderate mask to shreds.
Oh, goody. That means I could temporarily change my registration to Dem just to vote for Cindy against Diane in the primary, then switch back to Rep for the general election and help the Republican win against that shrew.

(As an aside, Margaret Hamilton was born in Cleveland and attended a private girl's school in what is now Shaker Heights. She visited there frequently long after her career took her to first Los Angeles and then New York. She also continued to be active in Cleveland's performing arts community. [Yes there is such a thing] By all reports she was actually a wonderful person -- warm and personable -- and popular with the both students and faculty.)
And I say that in the most respectful tone as one of her constituents.
