I don't know why everyone is jumping on him. My ex husband was German with a last name with only 2 letters added to Goring. When his dad was in the Army and stationed in Germany, he got spit on or yelled at by many different folks when they read his name. He had blonde hair and blue eyes. Just because he got crap from people who looked like him, doesn't mean it didn't happen.
I know German Americans get discriminated against. Or Germans themselves. I actually had an Aupair from Germany and she told me that one time, in the US she was introduced to a Jewish woman and her son. When the woman found out my aupair was German, she was blatently rude to her. And it hurt my Aupairs feelings it really did.
