He's skiing, hoping that the vote can be delayed so the president won't have Alito to announce in his SOTU speech. Same with the Democrats hanging out in the middle east "observing" the elections.
It's a delaying tactic similar to what the Texas dems did back a few years ago, they all left the state and refused to vote on reapportionment.
