I disagree. Getting these two through in the face of the democrat opposition, the pro-abortion groups who pull the strings, and the ranting of the media is no small accomplishement. Yes, it is true that the public paus more attention, but that makes the stakes higher for the opposition, too.

You and I often disgree, and this point is one. I have stated my side, but am not interested in an argument. People can choose to look at this however they want.

I'm not so sure we disagree on this, much at any rate. I just figure SCOTUS nominations are easier, whether by "necessity" or public perception or whatever, they MUST move through. I'm not saying it's easy, obviously it isn't. But the nominations to SCOTUS have a life of their own, aside from the skill of the Senate Majority Leader.

Now when Frist gets Myers and Boyle up for a floor vote, that will demonstrate some skill. Those nominations, being for mere Circuit Court positions, have less of a life of their own, and depend on the initiative, acumen and skill of the Senate Majority Leader to be advanced. Most people have forgotten (if they ever knew) that the nominations were moved out of Committee, but the public does not lose sight of a SCOTUS nominee.
