The God of Evolution is Time. With man it is impossible but with enough time all things are possible.

Given enough time I can turn lead to gold.

Or as the immortal Wimpy used to say, "I'll gladly pay you tomorrow for a hamburger today."

...human and chimp molecular evolution – changes that occur over time at the genetic level – is much slower than that of gorillas and orangutans, with the evolution of humans being the slowest of all.

This pattern of a slower evolution for more recent mammals is entirely consistent with a well-excepted mating strategy of older human and bovine males:

"Look all those cows! (young Bull)...Let's run down the hill and mate with a few!

Old Bull: Nah, let's walk down and mate them all."

There was a great documentary recently on an upright-walking small-eared, really weird looking Chimp (famous in the 1970s and now living out his twilight years in a wild life center here in the US) that people were sure was an ape-human hybrid.

Alas, genetic tests finally proved that he was indeed all-Chimp, but apparently from some isolated sub-group in the depths of Africa.

There is also an amazing story about how Stalin allegedly set his scientists up to try to create an "ape-man" hybrid in the 1920s (the stronger to be able to work)...needless to say, they failed to successfully impregnate female apes with human sperm....something only a lunatic like Stalin could believe was possible....

I post, you decide.

...substitutions need to be passed to the next generation in order to have any lasting effect on the species,

Brilliant deduction! Any more such gems in the actual study? BTW 63 million out of 3 billion is ~2%.

Mucho thanks for the never ending postings of, ahem, provocative articles about the joys and, ugh, wisdom, of evolutionary, uhm, "science". Here's something in return:

Troll - From the fishing term. As a noun, synonymous with flamebait. As a verb, to post controversial or provocative messages in a deliberate attempt to provoke flames.

(The grandmother was right after all when she counseled never to trust people with two first names.)

Evolution? No proof, just guesses. Well, maybe there is SOME proof, I mean, liberals do look like weasels.

sometimes what goes on between those who believe only what is proven and those who believe in religion is remarkable...

religious belief vs creationism or 'intelligent design' is nothing but some of those with little faith trying to rationalize their beliefs. this is absurd of course. in the New Testament, Paul said that faith is belief in things unseen, or to put is simply faith in things for which there is no material proof.

evolution is fact, but that shouldn't stop anyone who has faith and wants to believe in God

This is a fine example of "scientificobabble" which sounds nice on its face, but carries no meaning. Everything is "related" in the sense that it has DNA. We all breathe air, too.

Didn't we just read, within the last two months, that chimps and humans were FARTHER apart genetically than previously thought?

Make up my mind, would ya?

Nice try genius, intimating, by slipping the word evolution into the title, that this study confirms the Theory of evolution. It merely states a biological closeness between species.

What it doesn't do is explain the origin of life on this planet, or the minute biochemical process of mutation and natural selection that according to you and your zealot ilk prove that the Theory of evolution is actually the Law of evolution.

As to why you have based your entire pathetic, souless, anti-religious, anti-American life on biological and social Darwinism is beyond me. You need to take a long quiet sabbatical in the country and contemplate your navel!
