American Idol accused of homophobia

American Idol homophobic?

According to entertainment and celebrity website TMZ.com, officials at the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) are fuming about the Fox show's attitude toward gay people.

GLAAD is mad about the acerbic comments that Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson made to contestants on the show's debut a few days ago.

"Shave off your beard and wear a dress," Cowell told one would-be contestant, while Jackson asked another male reject, "Are you a girl?".

GLAAD also notes that Ryan Seacrest and Cowell regularly exchange on-air insults, each implying that the other is gay.

I so knew this was coming as soon as we saw "Zachery" on opening night.

That was scary. It would have been one thing if it could sing.

`miseo': Gr. to hate, pursue with hatred, detest

I think phobia means 'running away from.
Hey, I saw Zacahary and if he sidled up to me, I'd go the other way. That kid is a Lou Reed song.

I walked through when my wife was watching the other night. They had a stripper on there. She was dancing as if around a pole.

I was a fan of Paula Abdul back in the 80's, however, even then I was aware that she was not that great of a singer.
She had the looks, and dance moves to compensate for the lack of a dynamic voice. It was, and still is, all about the video.

And if they are, I don't want to know, as I do not care.

I long for the days when all the homosexual lobby said they wanted was to "be left alone in the privacy of their own bedrooms."

What a big lie that turned out to be.

Good for you! No diet is easy, but to me this is the most realistic one I've ever been on. I eat out, drink beers, all within reason, of course. Good luck!!

How about "homomisenist"?

So many of those Hollywerid males are like that.

I miss real men like John Wayne, Gary Cooper, etc.

But I always knew Erroyl Flynn liked those Robin Hood tights too much.

Folks,

I have a very strong feeling that some of those who actually get to perform in the initial auditions are PLANTED to add entertainment value for the show.

Out of the thousands who line up to audition,
I hear that some of those with half decent voices were not even allowed by the screeners to perform before the judges and some of the terrible weirdos were let in...

Just count them ...

1) Keith "Like a Virgin" ( this one takes the cake as the best and most entertaining audition of all )...

2) William Hung ( how he got to sell 200,000 records and have thousands of adoring fans ( pretty girls at that !!)still stumps me ).

3) Leroy Wells the clueless jumping bean who didn't even know the judges said no.

4) The psychic who could not predict that she'd be rejected.

5) The mime who performed but did not sing.

And most recently ...

The bearded guy in drag who came in as Dorothy of the Wizard of Oz...

The guy from New York who wore a Statue of Liberty Costume

David Hoover, the guy who talks to the animals and was certifiably psycho and yet, Paula and Randy allowed him to go to the next round !!! Un-freaking belieavable !!

This guy Zach is probably just one of the many "plants" to make the show interesting as a target for Simon's barbs.

Totally agree. I love that you can save your extra 30 points for all at once. That's a lot of beer for the weekend!
